Since October 2015 the journal has been included into the list of the Russian peer-reviewed scientific journals of the Russian State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles.
The journal was founded in 2011 and more than 1000 scientific articles have been published since that time. The articles are dedicated to the fundamental problems of education and education sciences: philosophy of education, pedagogic methodology, didactics, history of pedagogy and education, comparative education and teaching technologies. Research results of examination of foreign pedagogy are also published in the journal. Great attention is paid to the issues of the lifelong learning and methodology of measurement in pedagogy.
Numerous publications follow and develop the traditions of famous scientific schools of the Institute, which were founded by outstanding scholars: M.N.Skatkin, N.M.Shakhmaev, I.Ya.Lerner, V.V.Kraevskiy, N.A.Konstantinov, Z.I.Ravkin, Z.A.Mal’kova, B.L.Vulfson, L.I.Novikova, S.Ya.Batyshev, A.M.Novikov.
The journal’s mission is reflecting the latest world vision positions and general theoretical research in the humanities sphere, aimed to the integrated and essential understanding of topical problems of personality, society and state.
The findings of scholarly discussions, transcripts of panel sessions of Academic Board connected with the discussion of topical problems of pedagogical theory and practice are published in the journal. The institution of reviewing of the articles is established in the journal. In this context the mission of science editor supervising subject area of the issue takes on special significance. Reviews of monographs and tutorials are also published in the journal.
